PRINCE GEORGE, Va. (WWBT) - Virginia State Police is looking for multiple suspects after a shooting ended in a pursuit and crash in Prince George County on Saturday evening.
Just before 6:30 p.m., VSP said a trooper witnessed an exchange of gunfire between people inside two cars near the intersection of Puddledock Road and Temple Avenue.
The agency said the trooper turned around and tried to stop one of the cars, which was believed to have been involved in the shooting.
“The driver refused to stop, and the trooper initiated a pursuit with emergency lights and siren activated,” said Virginia State Police in a press release.
Virginia State Police said the car crashed a short time later near Red Hill Mobile Home Park in the area of Puddledock Road and River Road.
The agency said four men inside the car ran away from the scene.
Virginia State Police said the trooper sustained a minor knee injury during the incident and is expected to make a full recovery.
The driver inside the other car was struck in the arm by gunfire and was flown by a medical helicopter to a hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Virginia State Police said the shooting and pursuit are under investigation.
